Hayabusa2 Grabs Piece of an Asteroid!

The article explained how the Hayabusa 2 grabbed a piece of an asteroid. There was a short video that showed this event (and also the event in slow motion). It explains this event from the start (where the bullet hits the asteroid) to where the information will be returned to Earth. ("At the end of the year, Hayabusa2 will begin its yearlong journey back to Earth — and at the end of 2020, scientists will finally be able to hold in their hands the result of last month's stunning space boop. ")
This short video shows how they practiced for this event using a bucket of gravel. I explained to my students that scientist do try to simulate an event to have an idea of what could happen.

Great video! It'll be interesting to discover what researchers learn about asteroids from that sample when it gets back to earth.
Thank you for sharing!
