The reality of students working in spaceflight occupations

Watching the growth of the commercial spaceflight sector has been amazing; it reminds me how the biotechnology industries began to boom in the 1980s. The reality of students doing STEM jobs for commercial spaceflight industries is pretty good. This is just one example of jobs: https://www.space.com/42476-space-tango-plans-manufacturing-in-orbit.html. I was lucky to be part of the first attempts at zero-gravity biochemical separation and preparation in the 1980s. Now we are looking at successful methods for producing a wide array of materials on orbital platforms and on nearby planets. I challenge my students to examine how their career goals can be applied to the commercial space flight sector.
